Her snuffling about in underbrush, could probably be heard from a mile away. Then again, she was too focused on what she'd found to really even care at that point. Leaping half over, half through a dense bush she shook her head and stuck her nose to the ground again, looking more like a blood hound than a wolf, following that painfully familiar trail. Her copper eyes were locked just in front of her nose, as if she glanced away for merely one moment, it would disappear. She knew that scent. Leather, sweat, and horse. The faint overtone of blood did nothing to deter her. If this was the right scent.. If it could possibly be.. Angelics. She lunged forward, following the trail faster and faster, leaving only small clouds of dust behind. Her pink tongue slipped out of her mouth and she panted openly, seeming to go on and on, the trail before her never seeming to change.. Looking around, she was confused for a moment.. Turning her eyes back in front of her is when she hit the branch.

There was no jolt this time, when she woke. Only the snapping open of deep copper eyes. Her whole fur-covered body twitched and trembled, and with the flick of an ear she cautiously raised her head and looked around.. After a moment, her shoulders slumped in disappointment, and she grudgingly hoisted herself onto her feet, shaking the dust from her fur. Dreams. She hated them more than she hated anything else. Taking a deep breath of the night air she blinked and suddenly let out three sneezes, one right after the other. Rubbing a paw against her nose she snorted and sighed, lifting her head high, ears forward. No more time for resting. Time to move forward. To keep looking. Slowly padding out of her secluded thicket, she looked around the wide clearing, ears flexing for any sort of sound. It was a chattery night. Owls called, crickets chirped, and the quarter full moon glared down upon it all.. The feel of the light against her fur made her skin crawl. It was forever a bitter reminder of what she'd lost.
